Sunday Round UP

I will admit that this past week I have been really bad. Between the cookies and the quiches I know I have set back my goal 2 weeks behind.
This week I have not been able to go to the gym. I worked, nights 2 days this week, Thursday I was exhausted from working nights and Friday I got stuck at the Hairdresser. Saturday and Sunday are my days to relax, if i don't have to work.

I have to take action. Recently, I was looking at Allen Iverson bio 6feet tall 175 lbs. Me 5feet tall 160lbs. Is there a problem?

I still have to take a picture of my flat ABS to post.

Monday October 25 will be a new day.

What have I been up to?

I will say that dieting around someone who doesn't diet is really hard.
I have been doing what some call a YO-YO. One day I eat good, one day I eat bad.
I must however say that it is easier to eat healthier at work, you just pack what you have, and that's all you have to eat.

I'm still continuing, my workouts at the gym, and I think my ABS muscles are getting stronger along with my endurance. I was able to run at 5.0 on 7min on the threadmill, that is an all time record.

Have not weighed myself, recently, as I can not see the scale without my glasses in the morning. I will try to remember to do so tomorrow along with posting pictures.

Pepito

Oh I love cookies.
Yesterday, I opened a bag to eat only 2 cookies. So I opened the first pack, I took 2, gave 3 to Max and then 3 to mom.
Next thing I know, I ate like 10 cookies...

I have a bag full of cookies from Paris at the house, what should I do wit them?

I love cookies.

Can I do all by myself?

It has been 2 days since I've made my blog public to whole world (thanks to my husband who posted it all over Facebook).

On Tuesday, I announced to my husband that I was re-launching my blog and he thought it was a great idea. By the time I got home, he was already telling about how I should change this and that, to make it more appealing to the public. I tried to explain to him, that I am not trying become a professional blogger, i'm just having fun. Being the professional that he is, he just didn't want to hear it. He proposed that I have weekly video/Pictures of my progress/working. Would you be interested in seeing something like this?

Today Wednesday, my diet wasn't so bad except for dinner Whole Wheat Pasta Gratin which included chicken, ham and cheese YUM. I also went to the gym for one hour 15min of cardi0 and 45min of training with my new trainer Antonio ( I will make an advertisement post later). Antonio suggested that I increased my cardio to at least 30min of running fast and slow to lose the fat! It seems very difficult to do, between the 2 Jobs, a family/house to take care and my own personal time, sitting home to watch Law and Order seems more appealing sometimes.

Oh, I'm also going to walk again during my lame 30mins lunches and 15min breaks with my co-workers. That should give a deficit of at least 250 calories daily.

Thank you for the support. I'm waiting for your feedback.

Caloriecount.about.com

I never said that I wanted to be skinny like Kate Moss, but I do want to see some muscles in my arms, legs and tummy if possible and in order to do it. the FAT has to go.

Most people tell me hey, why do you need to diet? you have a perfect body. Do I? I think that I have a good shape, but a few thing can be changed. I have what some may call a Coke Bottle shape: tinny waist and Big hips/thighs = size 4-8 waist to size 10-12 hips ---> is it easy to shop for pants? I do not want to look like a TWIX bar (my favorite chocolate), however I can lose a few centimeters or inches.

So I joined caloriecount.about.com, which made it actually easy to keep track of my daily calorie intake.

After logging in all my info Caloriecount said:

What we've learned about you...
Your current Body Mass Index (BMI) is 29.3, which means you are mildly overweight. A healthy BMI for your gender and age is between 18.5 and 24.9 and a reasonable weight loss or gain rate is 1-2 pounds a week.

I think anyone will at least attempt to do something, after seeing something like this.

I like calorie count, because it allows me to tweak what i'm eating. I try to update my food troughout the day during my break when I have time. It allows me to know if I can have 2 crackers with water or a steak with french fries (I should really limit this to once a month).

CalorieCount, also made me realize that 1 slice of chocolate cake is the equivalent of a Tuna Sandwich + an Apple...Another thing I won't be able to eat often.

My husband and I went groceries shopping on Sunday and I loaded my cart with the following items:

  • Tuna

  • Granny smith Apples and oranges

  • Whole wheat bread and crackers

  • Chicken Breast

  • Greek yogurt

Since my husband, is not dieting we also have some bad items which I won't mention here.

Now I need to be disciplined!

New Start

As mentioned in my previous brief post, it has 1.5 years since I have updated anything. The purpose of the this blog was to use it almost as a food diary to keep me in check. Somehow, I got lost updating.

Over the last 1.5 I met a wonderful man and we just got married 2 weeks ago. I looked RAVISSANTE at my wedding, everyone was complementing me about how much weight I had lost ( I really think the corsair in the dress did it). Upon my return to work, some co-workers told me "hey, now that you are married, no need to diet anymore".

Then, the week after I was talking to a friend, and telling her about how I wanted to diet and continue with the blog that I once started, and she agreed that I should.

I have to mention also, that over the last year, I have actually Joined a gym and even acquired a personal trainer for 2-3 personal sessions per week. My new trainer is Antonio from the Dominican. My first day with him, after my wedding we were working hard lifting weight. Half way trough it, he just told me " YOU HAVE TO DIET, otherwise your muscles will be buried under the fat" Light Bulb.

The same week, I entered a competition with my co-worker to lose 15lbs by Dec 19th, 2010. Through my google search I stumbled upon mycaloriecount.com.

During my Skinny Journey, I will succeed at counting calories, exercising and live with a husband who doesn't eat SALADS.
